The flak follows a more recent podcast episode in which Oliver opened up about some of the struggles he endured during his childhood, which came to light at a wellness retreat.

“I went in there thinking it was going to be all about my dad and then [Kurt Russell]My stepfather who raised me,” he said.

He further admitted: “It was completely the other way around: my mother was the one I was most talked about, interestingly, my mother was the one I was most traumatized about.”

After the episode aired, Oliver says he is “afraid” to speak “even more” about the trauma because “everything so far has been taken out of context.”

“I don’t know who I would be without my mother,” he said.
