A new study from Kaiser Permanente Northern California finds that women who drink more than eight alcoholic drinks per week have a higher risk of heart disease. The study involved more than 430,000 adults and aimed to research the effects of alcohol consumption on coronary heart disease. Binge drinking (more than three drinks per day) increases the chance of heart disease from 51% to 68%. The study was originally conducted using data collected in 2014 and 2015, in which patients were asked about their alcohol consumption.
