Beyonce announces new album, drops two singles in Super Bowl shocker

A pair of football teams played quite an exciting game on Sunday night.

Based on what we can understand, the Kansas City Chiefs bounced back to defeat the San Francisco 49ers in a thrilling overtime contest, giving the team its third Vince Lombardi Trophy in five years.

Pretty impressive, we guess.

But in our opinion, apart from a few key points.

The entire Super Bowl LVIII experience was dominated by two of music’s biggest solo artists, as Taylor Swift was in attendance to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce… while chugging beer… and indulging in a Joe Biden-led conspiracy theory. Was present to help.

However, she did not create every entertainment-based title.

At one point, Beyoncé starred in a Verizon commercial, challenging the singer to break the company’s Internet connection by making viral announcements one after another.

Most of these were silly and imaginary, like Beyoncé launching herself into space, until the global sensation delivered some real news at the end of the ad:

She’s coming with new music!

As confirmed via Beyoncé’s website on Sunday night, the artist is coming out with a new album on March 29, which will be known as “Renaissance: Act II.”

It will be country music-themed – and guess what?

The first two singles are out now!

The tracks are titled “Texas Hold’Em” and “16 Carriages”.

“This ain’t Texas, there’s no stopping them,” Beyoncé sings as a fast-paced thumps in the background during the former single quoted above.

“So put your cards down, down, down, down/ So park your Lexus and throw your keys up/ Stick around, ’round, ’round, ’round, ’round/ And if I couldn’t slow down I’d It’s gonna hurt to dance with you/Come put some sugar on me, too, darling/It’s a real-life boogie and a real-life hoodown/Don’t be a jerk, come take it to the floor now.”

The second song, “16 Carriages”, has a more mellow ballad quality.

“Sixteen carriages going by/While I watch them ride along with my dreams/To a summer sunset on a holy night/On a long road, I fight back all my tears,” the singer screams.

When Beyoncé dropped “Renaissance” in July 2022, she shared a statement on Instagram explaining that it was only part of a “three-act project” she recorded during the COVID pandemic .

He referred to that album as “Act I” and described it as “a place to dream and escape to during a scary time for the world.”

That 1990s retro dance-themed album went to number one and was the centerpiece of her tour last year, which sold $580 million in tickets, according to trade publication Pollstar.

Beyonce has been channeling her country era lately, with a cowboy hat and platinum blonde hair at the Grammy Awards earlier this month.

She also attended the Super Bowl in Las Vegas this year with her husband Jay-Z and their two daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi.
